Four years ago, I bought a Craftsman T100 Riding Lawnmower.
My yard at the time was only about a 1/4 acre. It was not a very large yard, but since I am a bilateral double amputee, it made since to mow my yard with a riding lawnmower.
I have since moved to where I am living now and my yard went from 1/4 acre to 7/8 acre. Other than the 1 hour and 45 minutes it takes me to mow, I still use the T100 with no issues.
I am very happy with this Craftsman mower, but I am considering upgrading to a larger Craftsman mower. One that can help reduce mowing time and handle a snow blade.
So, I thought I would write a blog/review on this mower.
We all know that maintaining a beautiful and well-manicured lawn can be a time-consuming and tiring task, but with the right tools, it can become a breeze.
This is where the Craftsman T100 riding mower comes in. Whether you have a small to medium-sized lawn, this budget-friendly and reliable mower will make your lawn care routine less of a chore and more of a pleasure.
Overview of the Craftsman T100:
The Craftsman T100 is a riding mower that offers a compact design with powerful cutting abilities. It boasts a Briggs & Stratten 340cc engine with 11.5 horsepower, making it suitable for small to medium-sized lawns.
This mower also features a 7-speed transmission and a side discharge chute for effective grass clippings disposal.
Mine was installed with the mulching kit and it works quite well. It also has a built-in cup holder, headlights, and a parking brake for added convenience.
Reliability and Performance:
One of the main reasons why the Craftsman T100 is a popular choice among homeowners is its reliability and performance.
This mower has proven to be durable and long-lasting, making it a worthwhile investment for those looking for a reliable lawn care companion.
Its compact design allows it to maneuver easily around obstacles, making it perfect for smaller yards. I had a 42" riding mower before I bought the T100.
The primary reason for buying the T100 was because the 42" was difficult driving through the gate to and from the backyard. The T100 fit perfectly with room to spare.
Easy on Gas:
Another great feature of the Craftsman T100 is its fuel efficiency. It has a small gas tank, but this little powerhouse doesn't use up much fuel.
Even with regular use, it will only need to be refilled every few weeks, which is very economical compared to other riding mowers in its class. With the 1/4 acre lawn, I only had to refuel twice during the mowing season, but with the 7/8 acre, I refuel about every three weeks.
Convenient Features:
The Craftsman T100 comes with several convenient features that make it stand out from other mowers in the market. It has a parking brake that can be activated by pushing the pedal all the way forward.
This feature ensures that the mower stays in place when not in use, preventing any accidents or mishaps. It also has an easy-to-use gear shift lever that allows you to choose from seven different speeds to suit your mowing needs.
Additionally, the T100 has a built-in cup holder and headlights for added convenience and visibility during early morning or late afternoon mowing sessions.
These small but useful features make using this mower a comfortable and enjoyable experience.
Warranty and Service:
For those who want extra peace of mind, the Craftsman T100 comes with a three-year factory warranty. However, it also offers an extended warranty for an additional cost, which will kick in after the factory warranty expires. This added coverage ensures that you are covered in case of any issues with the mower.
Potential Modifications:
Some users have found ways to disable the safety feature on the seat that requires you to be sitting on it for the mower to stay running. However, this is not recommended as it can compromise the safety of the user. The safety features are there for a reason, and it's best to leave them as they are.
Final Thoughts:
Overall, the Craftsman T100 is a reliable and budget-friendly riding mower that offers great performance and convenience. Its compact design, fuel efficiency, and convenient features make it a top choice for those with smaller yards.
With proper maintenance and care, this mower can last for years, making it an excellent long-term investment.
If you're considering purchasing a riding mower for your lawn care needs, the Craftsman T100 is definitely worth considering.
It may not have all the bells and whistles of higher-end models, but it gets the job done efficiently and effectively. Keep your lawn looking beautiful without breaking the bank with the Craftsman T100 riding mower.
I am considering purchasing the Craftsman T140, with a 46" width of cut. I'll also be able to put a snow blade on it. When that happens, I will write a review on it also.
