A&W Barbecue Sauce

 

Ingredients:

* 1 bottle (12 ounces) A&W Root Beer
* 1 cup  tangy tomato sauce
* 1/2 cup brown sugar or molasses
* 1/4 cup yellow mustard
* 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
* 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
* 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
* 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
* 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
* 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
* 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)

Instructions:

1. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine all of the ingredients.
2. Bring to a simmer and cook for 15 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened.
3. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
4. Use the sauce to baste your favorite grilled meats or vegetables.

Tips:

* For a thicker sauce, cook for an additional 5-10 minutes.
* If you like a sweeter sauce, add an additional 1/4 cup of brown sugar.
* For a spicier sauce, add an additional 1/4 teaspoon of cayenne pepper.
* This sauce can also be used as a dipping sauce for chicken tenders, onion rings, or french fries.
* Store the sauce in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
